Kristina Robertson also suggests that if a new strategy or activity doesn’t work, look back to all of the factors involved. Did students understand what they needed to do? Are there any scaffolds that might have helped? If you work with ELL teachers, ask them for your ideas. Try it a few different times before deciding not to use it again.
