Long-term ELLs (sometimes referred to as LTELs) have been in the ELL program for an extended period of time and have not yet been able to exit. You can look for ways to build relationships with long-term ELLs as you get to know their stories and celebrate their strengths and talents and also learn more about the kinds of academic support and opportunities that can benefit this population.
